Sony Pictures to Produce Steve Jobs’ Biopic: Report

The biography of one of the greatest inventors of our times is scheduled to hit shelves on Oct. 24. Just two days after his death, media reports suggest that a film on Steve Jobs is more likely to be produced by Sony Pictures.

Since Sony has recently produced real-life business-based films like "The Social Network" and "Moneyball," it is very likely that a film on Apple cofounder's life will come from the producer of "Source Code."
Reportedly, the film will be based on the upcoming biography of the inventor written by former CNN chairman and Time managing editor Walter Isaacson.
Steve Jobs' life has already come on screens earlier with a telefilm titled "Pirates of Silicon Valley" (1999). Noah Wyle played Jobs, and the movie was appreciated by the then Apple CEO.
According to a Deadline.com report, Sony Pictures has agreed for a $3million-deal for the movie rights. Sony is yet to comment on the issue.
Jobs' biography was slated for Nov. 21 launch earlier. However, following his death, publisher Simon & Schuster has preponed the release of the 448-page book to Oct. 24.
